12/24 3:00 PM – The Children’s Service
Experience the Christmas story proclaimed by the children of St. Peter's. In this polished, well-rehearsed presentation, our children lead worship through memorized recitations, Scripture, and song.
12/24 7:30 PM – Festival of Lessons & Carols
In this historic liturgy, we trace the story of salvation from the Garden of Eden to the mystery of the Incarnation.
12/25 10:00 AM – Christmas Day Divine Service
Keep Christ in Christmas by celebrating the Lord’s birth at Divine Service. We gather to receive the greatest gift of all: the Real Presence of Jesus in Holy Communion. We celebrate the "Word become flesh" with a triumphant Divine Service, rejoicing that God is with us.
A Personal Welcome to Our Christmas Services
As the pastor at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, I personally welcome you to one of our Christmas services or events!
Christmas is when we celebrate the mystery of the Incarnation: God became man in Jesus Christ.
He came and dwelt with us on earth, so that we might dwell with Him in heaven through the forgiveness of our sins.
That is an occasion worth celebrating, and we want you to celebrate with us!
What if my children are noisy?
We love it! St. Peter's is full of young families (about half our members are under 36), so your children will fit right in.
We don't have a soundproof "cry room" and we don’t do children’s church, because we’re all better off together in the sanctuary:
- Children learn to worship Jesus by imitating the adults in their life.
- Adults can be blessed by the example of children’s faith
That said, we totally get that children can be restless and noisy. That’s normal and okay!
If you do need to step out for a moment, we have a large TV in the basement that plays the service in real-time so you can jump right back in without missing a beat.
What should I wear?
You will see everything from suits and ties to flannel and boots. We are a rural congregation, and we know Minnesota winters are cold. Please come however you are comfortable.
How early should I arrive?
- For the 3:00 PM Children's Service, we recommend arriving 30–45 minutes early, as the sanctuary fills up quickly with families.
- For the 7:30 PM and 10:00 AM services, 15 minutes is plenty of time to find a seat and prepare your heart for worship.
I’m not Lutheran. Can I still attend?
Absolutely. Whether you are from a different background or have no church background at all, you are welcome to hear the Gospel. We will guide you through the service so you know when to sit, stand, and sing.
Where do I park?
Since we are in the country, we have a large, accessible parking lot right next to the church.
Is your church accessible?
We have ramps for wheelchairs and walkers in the north entry of the church building.
Can I watch services online if I can’t attend in person?
Absolutely! If for any reason you can’t make our in-person service, you can always watch it live or watch it back here on our Facebook page.
